Architectural Association School of Architecture

Was originally set up in 1847 as a public forum and learned society, in/famously founded by ‘a pack of troublesome students’. The AA is much more than the UK’s oldest school of architecture; the school is the nexus of a global conglomeration of contemporary architectural culture, as well as its pasts.

Architectural Association Visiting School

In more than 50 workshops, laboratories and nomadic studios, one Night School, one ONe-Year and two Semester Abroad programmes, a Summer School, Visiting Teachers Programme and Independents Group, a wide spectrum of students of all ages and backgrounds will convene at Bedford Square, London and around the planet to make, think, discuss and debate, thus actively shaping the future of architecture.

STUDIO - X , Mumbai

In recent years, GSAPP has used the label “Studio-X” to refer to its most advanced laboratories for exploring the future of cities. The label conveys the sense that a whole new platform for research and debate is needed to face the array of urgent questions that will face the next generation of designers. A place to invent, test and celebrate new ideas. A dynamic space that evolves at the same speed as the urban environment itself.

Exploration

Was established in 2007 and has been described as a pioneer of biomimicry. They use biomimicry to develop new strategies, to radically rethink existing building types and devise a completely new approach to the design process. Their aim is to produce solutions that address the major challenges of our age which we see as climate change, biodiversity loss, resource scarcity and energy, food & water security.

Melting Mints

Is dedicated to providing 3d printing services for prototyping to clients. They also distribute Flashforge 3D printers. They use the FDM 3D printing technology for making the prototypes and do consumer level 3d scanning. They have worked on many eminent projects including BARC Reactors which was presented to the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

OF Arquitectos, Chile

A collective of architecture and design, with projects developed in the in residential, educational, public space and interior ambits. It is co-directed by Alvaro Ramirez, Francisco Cepeda and Nicolas Cabargas. The main ambition is to satisfy the client’s necessities developing an innovative architectural design with clear intellectual and constructive concepts, and focussing in the programme adaptability, flexibility and the relation with the context.

Trans Craft

Is a research cell based in Mumbai, India, exploring design at the intersection of Technology and Craft. It is an initiative which focuses on material computation, digital fabrication and innovation in architecture & design. It constantly strives to redefine the relationship between form and performance. Also, believes in taking hands-on experience and eventually creating pieces of art that inspire us to grow as Artists.

Ethos

Was founded in 2002, with an understanding of the difference a stimulated student fraternity could make to the future of our built environment. Ethos also works towards sensitising students of architecture to the culture and the spirit to which their designs would need to respond. Ethos focuses on networking students of architecture and civil engineering across the country on a common platform that facilitates easy dissemination of information. Ethos creates a means of ongoing education.

NASA is the largest Architectural Student Body of Asia covering 200+ Colleges. The main aim is to provide the best exposure and knowledge to the students inclusive of a life time experience through its activities and events. NASA India provides that platform at an international scale for the interaction of Students, Academicians and Architects.
